We recognise that children arrive at school at different levels in their social and emotional development and we will endeavour to build from the appropriate starting point. Children will be encouraged to form relationships with adults and other children and to develop self-esteem and confidence. They will learn to work co-operatively and to talk about their feelings and emotions as well as how their actions can affect the feelings of others.
At a later stage they will apply this awareness to more general appreciation within the wider community.
