SWIMMING ACHIEVEMENTS

Peter Richardson and Lara Lennon both Prep 1 achieved Level 3 in the National Swim Awards

Cara McGrath Prep 1 achieved Level 2 in the National Swim Awards

Alex Fawcett Prep 4 achieved Levels 9 and 10 in the National Swim Awards

Eve Taylor Prep 1 achieved Level 3 in the National Swim Awards

Scarlett Hewitt Prep 2 achieved Levels 8 and 10 in the National Swim Awards

Oliver O’Kane Prep 2 achieved Levels 6 and 7 in the National Swim Awards

Zara Watson Prep 4 achieved Level 10 in the National Swim Awards

Benjamin Watson Prep 1 achieved Level 4 of the National Swim Awards

Caitlin Hennessy Prep 2 achieved Level 7 of the National Swim Awards

Ella McMahon Prep 2 achieved Level 4 of the National Swim Awards

Orla O’Kane Prep 5 achieved Level 10 of the National Swim Awards

Thomas McKibbin Prep 3 achieved Level 7 of the National Swim Awards

Luke Quinn, Stephen Service, Erin Bennett and Eve Taylor all Prep 1 achieved Level 2 of the National Swim Awards

David Service Prep 4 achieved Level 9 of the National Swim Awards

 

GYMNASTICS ACHIEVEMENTS

Congratulations to everyone in Preps 3 to 7 who completed their Gymnastics Proficiency Award from the British Gymnastics Association.  Below is a break down of the results with level 1 being the highest level of achievement.

15 pupils gained their level 6 award.

18 pupils gained their level 5 award.

27 pupils gained their level 4 award.

28 pupils gained their level 3 award.

17 pupils gained their level 2 award.

5 pupils gained their level 1 award.

Well done again and congratulations to everyone in Prep 3 to 7.

 

Kate Handley Prep 4 recently obtained a distinction in her gymnastics

Intermediate Performance Award

 

JUDO ACHIEVEMENTS

Callum Watson Prep 4 attended a judo festival, won all his fights and obtained a medal.

Louis Adams Prep 3 passed his green belt grading in Jujitsu.

Zak Thabeth Prep 4 was awarded Pupil of the Month at Judo.

 

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS

Benjamin Watson Prep 1 was awarded the runner up shield for the “Always Cheerful Award” at the 1st Boys Brigade Company (Greenisland)

Zara Watson Prep 4 won the Explorer Cup at the Annual Display of the 155th Girls’ Brigade Company (Greenisland).  Zara also achieved a medal for getting into the PE Cup NI Final.

Joshua Ford Prep 4 has successfully completed the Archery Beginner’s Course.

Thomas McKibbin Prep 3 obtained his grade 5 Ice Skating Award from the National Ice Skating Association

 

MUSICAL ACHIEVEMENTS

Zaid Thabeth Prep 7 passed his Trinity College, London Grade 3 Piano Exam.

 

SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTS

BRA Girls Mini Hockey Tournament—Thursday 13th May 2010

Congratulations to the Ben Madigan A Team who competed in the first ever B.R.A. Girls’ mini hockey tournament at Roughfort.  The girls competed against stiff opposition from Fairview Primary, Kings Park Primary and Cavehill Primary.  The team was comprised of Danielle Bates (goalkeeper), Savannah Thompson (Sweeper), Trinity Geddis (mid field), Lucy Stewart (mid field), Anna Wilson (captain) and Zara Lennon (striker and top goal scorer in the tournament with 9 goals).  Well done to the girls for representing the school so well.

 

A special mention must also go to the Ben Madigan B Team who finished a gallant 3rd overall.  Their team was made up of Rebecca Fusco (goalkeeper), Amie and Ellie Bradley, Clara Walker, Caitlin Hoey, Nakisa Towfighi and Nadia Lennon (captain).

 

Well done to all the girls who took part and they proved that there is a bright future for girls’ mini hockey at Ben Madigan.
