PUPIL ACHIEVEMENTS DURING DECEMBER

Success for Ben Madigan pupils


ASA National Swim Awards
The following pupils all achieved the levels indicated and received a certificate and woven badge each:
Michael Montgomery, Prep. 1 - Level 2
Zara Handley, Prep. 2 - Level 2
Benjamin Lonsdale, Prep. 2 - Level 4
Asha Mullan, Prep. 2 - Level 3
Cameron Tucker, Prep. 3 - Levels 1,2,3 & 4 & 100m Backstroke
Kate Handley, Prep. 4 - Level 9
 
Judo Awards
The following pupils all achieved the levels indicated:
Jodie Bates, Ben Bingham, Jack McKibben, Sam Murray, Beth Russell and Luke Weatherald, all from Prep. 1 - 1st Mon.
James Russell and Zac Thabeth, Prep. 4 - 4th Mon (Yellow Belt)
Jack Bingham, Prep. 4 - 6th Mon
Jack also won a Bronze Medal in the Northern Ireland Youth Games and he was part of the Abbey Team which won the best team trophy.
Jack then took part in the North-West Open and was 5th out of 9 competitors who were Juniors and older than him.
 
Julia Forbes, Prep. 4:

Julia achieved a clear round on her Silver Pony at the Knockagh View Equestrian Centre and won a Rosette.

 
Julia Uprichard, Prep. 4:
Julia achieved a Merit grade (81%) in her Preliminary Speech & Drama exam.
 
Orla O’Kane, Prep. 5:
Orla achieved a Merit grade (83%) in her Grade 1 Piano exam from Trinity College, London.
 
Anna Whiteside, Prep. 5:
Anna gained 500 metres on Front Crawl at the Ballysillan Leisure Centre and received a Certificate.
 
SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTS
On Friday 3rd December the following pupils participated in the Primary Schools’ Cross Country League at Laurelhill College and performed very well:
Odhran Catney and Mitchell McKay, both from Prep. 5.
 
Jonathan Cowden, Trinity Geddis, Aaron Lyons, Jack McAlister, Nakisa Towfighi, all from Prep. 6.
Danielle Bates, Rioghnach Catney, Samuel Osborne, Anna Wilson, all from Prep. 7.
 
William Davis, Prep. 6:
Congratulations go to William who came 4th in the boys’ 1000 metres race.
