Castle Grounds

The school is situated on the slopes of Cave Hill, just below Belfast Castle.  It can be accessed from the Antrim Road and Downview Park West (pedestrian only).  Its extensive grounds include playing fields which are used by pupils of both Ben Madigan and B.R.A. for hockey, rugby, cricket, soccer and cross-country running.  Four separate playground areas are provided, as well as a changing pavilion.  A nature trail and pond contribute to the learning environment.

All classrooms are equipped with at least one internet-linked computer, which also has access to over 80 pieces of software.  The library contains a small computer suite, including an interactive whiteboard.  Whiteboards are in use throughout the school to reduce dust, an advantage for asthmatic children.   Preps. 4-7 use the B.R.A. swimming pool, travelling by school bus.
